This mixed planter will thrive inside with bright, direct light, or move it outside once all danger of frost has passed. It needs to be watered twice a week and potted up in 1-2 months. With this planter, you actually get a total of 5 different plants: Spider plant, Variegated Kalanchoe, Geranium, String of Bananas and Purple Heart.

The soil is topped with blue granite gravel and comes with a Rocky Mountain quartzite from the San Luis Valley. The container is 5 inches in diameter and stands 14 inches tall with the plants. 

This mixed planter comes in purple tapered container with a metallic copper band around the top. There is no drainage hole, so we put a nice layer of gravel at the bottom to help with drainage. All of our containers and vases are up-cycled from second-hand sources. We believe in the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, or finding beauty in the imperfections. This allows us to rescue slightly used but still in really good condition containers and give them new purpose.

We start all of our plants from cuttings that we take from our large houseplant collection. We root them with homemade willow rooting hormone, plant them with cinnamon in high-quality fox farm potting soil, and care for them tenderly while they grow under natural sunlight.
